Life Chains

Life Chains

Life strings pull and tug
Marionettes to human puppets
Endless chain from cradle to grave
A dance to imaginary song
Acceptance to deluded mores
Of society, of expectations

We ask not
Who made these rules,
Who wrote these songs
That we inflict upon our psyche

Imaginary, nonetheless true
Without substance, nonetheless real
The imaginary song
The on-going dance
New dancers take over
As old dancers leave
Continuing , ever renewing
Old treaded pathways
In the newly forged frontier

A life most ordinary – is not.

Life too

Life too

Life’s purpose
Life’s questions
No answers
No certainties
To the opposing tugs
of security and variety
of fears and stagnation

What wisdom or knowledge gained
is enough or adequate
to satisfy an insecure heart
to fill a misunderstood void

Contention and harmony
Extremes and balances
Tolerance and conviction
Adaptation or erosion
Dualities, Paradoxes, intertwined.
